pTwisted made its video game appearance in 2008 in quot;NASCAR KART Racingquot; for EA Freestyle. br /
br /
Built primarily from NI Reaktor patches there is no question the influence came from Dépêche Mode; Somewhere between quot;The Policy of Truthquot; and quot;Personal Jesusquot; lay the type of feel I was after.br /
br /
I wanted a driving industrial type beat with a Gothic type choir as the overlay. The choir was from the NI Kontakt library and controlled with a modulation wheel to achieve the different vocal tones. br /
br /
The main synthesizer sound was the MX6000 patch run through Guitar Rig for a little grit. br /
br /
After the track was finished I questioned if it was going to be a good fit for the KART racing title but once playing it in game it felt right as the drivers battled it out on an over the top race track. br /
br /

pThrash Trance first made its appearance on EA Sports Nascar Chase For the Cup for the PS2 in 2005 (Heard in the Speed Zone). This version was the extended remix that was also featured in EA Sports Arena Football Title in 2006.br /
br /
Thrash Trance was originally composed in ProTools. The guitar loops were played in live and later manipulated but stutter editing. I only used two synthesizers at the time I produced this, a Korg Triton and an Oberhiem Matrix 6; both were physical synthesizers not VST's. The Drums were a combination of Loops and samples loaded onto the Triton. br /
br /
The remixed version heard here was put together in Sonar and that allowed me to explore more possibilities with VST synths and layers of new drums. br /
br /
Influences for Thrash Trance came from the group quot;The Prodigy quot; Albums like quot;The Fat of the Landquot; amp; quot;Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunnedquot; that I was listening to a bunch at that time . br /
br /
There is an equally aggressive track that I scored around the same time called quot;Avatar of Furyquot; that I hope to post later that was featured alongside Thrash Trance in the NASCAR Game. br /
br /
As with the other tracks I posted, I can only post them here as my portfolio because distribution rights are owned by EA Sports.
